Ohio police have identified Ka Nye Taylor, a 20-year-old man, as the primary suspect in a mass shooting at the Old West End Festival in Toledo that wounded 12 people. Authorities are also seeking a second shooter, for whom they have released a photo. Taylor is wanted on 11 counts of felonious assault.
The shooting occurred Saturday night during a dispute between two rival groups. Police say three of the victims were involved in the altercation, while the other nine were innocent bystanders. The oldest victim is 61, and the youngest is 14. All victims are expected to survive, with nine already released from the hospital.
Authorities have offered rewards for information leading to the suspects' arrests, including $10,000 from Crime Stoppers and $5,000 from the U.S. Marshals Service. Police Chief Michael Troendle praised bystanders and first responders for their quick actions, noting that half the victims arrived at hospitals with tourniquets applied by civilians or officers.
The Old West End Festival is an annual two-day event featuring live music, vendors, and home tours. The shooting has raised questions about security at public gatherings in Toledo, a city of about 270,000 near Lake Erie.
