Milly Alcock made a bold fashion statement at the New York City premiere of the new DC Studios film Supergirl, while early box office tracking data suggests the movie may face financial challenges.
The 26-year-old actress, who stars as Kara Zor-El, wore an all-black ensemble featuring a corset-style top with peplum details, paired with fitted dress pants and latex opera gloves. Her look was complemented by sultry dark makeup, drawing attention amid ongoing backlash over her casting.
Alcock was joined by co-stars David Corenswet (Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), and Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor). Corenswet opted for a light-khaki double-breasted suit, while Brosnahan wore a brown dress with a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit. Hoult chose a black leather jacket over a white T-shirt.
Meanwhile, pre-release tracking data indicates Supergirl may underperform at the box office, with projections suggesting a potential $200 million loss. Some analysts attribute this to recent controversies, including comments from Alcock about criticism of her casting as a female superhero. The film follows other high-profile DC and Marvel releases that have faced financial disappointments, including Superman (2025) and The Marvels.
