Olympic gold medalist Bode Miller has pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor drug charges following his arrest in Idaho on June 6. The charges include possession of a controlled substance (psilocybin mushrooms) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Miller, 48, posted a $5,000 bond and was released. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 29.
The arrest occurred in Fremont County, where court records indicate a deputy found Miller with 4.1 grams of psilocybin mushrooms in a white dispensary bag. Idaho has strict drug laws, though neighboring states like Colorado and Oregon have legalized psilocybin for therapeutic use.
Miller, one of America's most decorated alpine skiers, won six Olympic medals, including gold in the 2010 Vancouver Games. He retired from professional skiing in 2017. The arrest came nearly eight years after the tragic drowning death of his 19-month-old daughter, Emeline, in 2018. Miller's attorney has filed an appearance on his behalf, and the case remains active.
