British Transport Police (BTP) have released CCTV images of a man they believe holds vital information about the rape of a 17-year-old girl at Guildford railway station in Surrey. The attack occurred around 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 19, 2025, when the suspect approached the victim and her friends as they walked toward the station.
The man initially tried to pressure the teenager into boarding a train with him and made explicit sexual demands, which she refused. After the group moved outside the station, the suspect isolated the girl from her friends and raped her. The victim managed to break free and ran back to her friends, who were still outside the station's entrance.
BTP Detective Sergeant Nick Thompson condemned the attack, stating that the perpetrator targeted a vulnerable minor. 'The person responsible for this horrific crime targeted a vulnerable victim who was just 17 years old at the time of the attack,' DS Thompson said. 'Specialist officers continue to support her and her family as we follow all lines of enquiry.'
Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the man shown in the CCTV images, urging anyone with information to come forward. The incident has raised concerns in the local community, and authorities are working to ensure the safety of residents.
