Lakers second-year forward Adou Thiero missed the team’s California Classic summer league finale on Monday due to a right wrist injury. The 22-year-old was initially listed in the starting lineup but did not play in the game against the San Antonio Spurs, which the Lakers won 88-84. Guard Chris Mañon started in Thiero’s place and scored 24 points with eight rebounds in the victory.
Thiero, a 2025 second-round pick, joined the bench midway through the first quarter wearing a black hoodie, sweatpants, and a brace on his right wrist, which he kept covered with a towel. He had scored 22 points in two prior summer league games but struggled with shooting efficiency, making just 31.6% of his field goals and missing all three of his three-point attempts in the previous games.
The Lakers went 2-1 in the four-team California Classic tournament and will continue their offseason in the Las Vegas summer league, beginning July 10. Additionally, the team signed AJ Okereke, a 6-foot-7 forward, to a two-way contract on Sunday. Okereke, a former Vanderbilt player, averaged 9.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and two assists in his graduate transfer season.
Cameron Carr, the Lakers’ first-round pick, played only in the first half of Monday’s game, finishing with five points, one rebound, one assist, one steal, one block, and three fouls in 12 minutes and 49 seconds. The Lakers’ summer league roster also includes Chris Mañon, Anton Watson, Arthur Kaluma, Luke Goode, Robbie Avila, and Zhaire Smith, among others.
