Former Miami Heat teammates Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro were involved in a physical altercation in Las Vegas on Friday, according to reports. The incident occurred at an NBA Summer League practice facility, where Adebayo allegedly struck Herro in the head area after confronting him over social media comments criticizing his defense.
The altercation reportedly stemmed from comments Herro made following the blockbuster trade that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami and Herro to Milwaukee. Screenshots circulated online purportedly showed Herro questioning Adebayo’s defensive abilities in an Instagram direct message with a fan.
Neither player has publicly addressed the incident, but Herro spoke briefly with Prime Video during the Bucks-Heat Summer League game on Friday. 'It's all love in Miami,' Herro said. 'We are all good in Miami. Just an opportunity for both sides to reset, get a fresh start, and both are super happy with this.'
Adebayo, a three-time All-Star and six-time All-Defensive center-forward, signed a three-year, $166 million extension with Miami in June 2024. Herro, an All-Star guard, won the 2021-22 NBA Sixth Man of the Year. Both players were drafted by Miami after playing college basketball at Kentucky.
The Bucks' first-year head coach, Taylor Jenkins, declined to comment on the matter, stating he did not know all the specifics. The Heat and Bucks did not issue official statements regarding the altercation.
