Buena Park police have issued a warning about a potential teen "takeover" event planned for Knott's Berry Farm this weekend. The department stated it is aware of an "unsanctioned event" and is working with park officials to identify organizers, emphasizing that law enforcement will take action against disruptive behavior.
The warning follows a similar alert from Huntington Beach police about a possible "beach takeover" and comes one week after more than 400 arrests were made in Newport Beach during a Fourth of July gathering promoted on social media. In Newport Beach, a crowd of roughly 3,000 people caused fights, thefts, and property damage, leading to widespread disruptions.
Knott's Berry Farm has previously faced teen-related disruptions, including a 2022 incident that forced the park to close early. The park now requires guests under 16 to be accompanied by an adult during afternoon hours due to past incidents of unruly behavior.
Law enforcement agencies across Southern California are on high alert, with multiple departments issuing warnings about social-media-driven gatherings. Similar events have been reported at theme parks nationwide, including Kennywood in Pittsburgh, Hersheypark in Pennsylvania, and ICON Park in Orlando.
