A 20-year-old mother, Jamaria Cobb, and her 52-year-old boyfriend, Armand Bright, have been arrested after a 2-year-old boy fatally shot himself with a gun hidden in a couch cushion. The incident occurred on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at a home on Victoria Street in Highland, San Bernardino County.
Deputies performed CPR on the child upon arrival but were unable to revive him. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital. A second child present in the home was taken into custody by Child and Family Services. Cobb and Bright were arrested on suspicion of child abuse causing great bodily injury or death and are being held on $1.3 million bail.
