Paris Knifeman Arrested After Injuring Three, Including Pregnant Woman

A 31-year-old man was arrested after a stabbing spree in Paris on Monday, injuring three women, including a pregnant woman. The attack occurred around 11:30 a.m. near the Porte de Clichy metro station in the city's north. Two of the victims, aged 19, 24, and 36, were seriously wounded but not in life-threatening condition, according to Interior Minister Laurent Nunez. One victim was struck in the lower back, and another in the abdomen. The suspect, who was armed with two knives, was apprehended by an off-duty police officer and bystanders who pinned him down with a chair. Videos shared on social media showed the man lunging at a woman before being subdued. The suspect reportedly made incoherent statements, including claims that 'Allah commanded me,' though authorities cautioned against jumping to conclusions about his motives. The anti-terrorism prosecutor's office has not taken up the case, and terrorism is not the leading theory. A source close to the investigation told Le Parisien that the suspect is believed to have mental health issues. The attack comes amid heightened security concerns in Europe following recent violent incidents.
