President Donald Trump has added five new statues to the White House Rose Garden and installed multiple paintings and gold sculptures throughout the residence during his second, non-consecutive term. The changes include replacing a portrait of former President Barack Obama with a painting of Trump in the Cross Hall, as well as placing a Trump portrait between portraits of first ladies. The Oval Office has been updated with gold pieces and additional presidential portraits from the White House Collection.
Five new statues installed in Rose Garden
Five new statues were added to the White House Rose Garden, according to official descriptions. The additions are part of broader renovations to the residence and grounds.
Gold sculptures and Trump portraits added to Oval Office and Cross Hall
The Oval Office has been covered in gold pieces, and a painting of Trump now hangs in the Cross Hall. The painting, created by artist Marc Lipp in April 2025, depicts Trump’s response following an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. A separate portrait of Trump was also placed between portraits of first ladies in May 2025.
White House spokesman Davis Ingle stated in a statement that the renovations are part of "long-overdue and necessary renovations to beautify the People's House" as the nation prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary of independence. He added, "Thanks to the Builder-in-Chief, the White House will be properly glorified and remain in excellent condition for generations to come."
The artwork additions follow Trump’s second term inauguration and reflect his stated priorities for the residence. The White House Collection includes historical presidential portraits, while some contemporary pieces were acquired from modern artists. The administration has not provided a full inventory of the new additions beyond the described changes.
