Law enforcement officials in Miami-Dade County tactically disengaged from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton’s residence on Tuesday after receiving multiple emergency calls about a TikTok livestream showing alleged self-harm behavior.
Deputies from the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Hilton was alone inside his Miami home during the incident. The video, which has since been removed from TikTok, showed Hilton covered in blood while brandishing a knife, according to clips obtained by media outlets. The platform suspended Hilton’s account following the incident.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office stated that in cases involving individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, deputies prioritize de-escalation strategies, including creating time, distance, and communication opportunities. Officials noted that unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation reduces risks of injury to the individual, law enforcement, and the public.
Family members were present on scene during the police response, and deputies spoke with them before deciding to monitor the situation from a distance. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed they were providing support to Hilton’s family while continuing to assess the situation.
TikTok has not publicly commented on the suspension, and Hilton’s representatives at Golden Artists Entertainment have not responded to requests for comment. The video’s removal and account suspension were confirmed by media reports.
Hilton, a father of three children born via surrogacy (his eldest son born in 2013, followed by two daughters in 2015 and 2017), has not issued a public statement regarding the incident. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office has not provided further details about the nature of the calls or the ongoing monitoring process.
