A Singapore-based venture capitalist has integrated $120 worth of AI subscriptions into his daily workflow, asserting that the tools enhance his productivity more effectively than hiring an intern. Marc Palet, 26, a venture capitalist at OMVC, describes how AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and n8n have streamlined his operational tasks, including automating the summarization of founder meetings and managing workflows.
Palet, who leads Asia Pacific investments for OMVC, reports that AI has become central to his role as the firm’s sole employee outside the U.S. He has invested in over 12 AI companies since starting his VC career, integrating AI not only into his portfolio but also into his workflow. His monthly spending on AI tools includes subscriptions to Claude, ChatGPT, n8n, and transcription APIs, with Palet stating he would increase this budget if it further boosted his efficiency.
Automating founder meeting summaries
Palet began using ChatGPT in 2023 but saw a significant shift with the adoption of coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Replit. One of his first automated workflows summarizes founder meetings recorded via Fireflies, a transcription service. Instead of manually transcribing and analyzing meetings, Palet receives structured summaries covering key details such as the company’s problem, solution, market, and other due diligence points. This automation has reportedly saved him "countless hours" of operational work.
Building a knowledge repository
Palet also uses NotebookLM to create repositories for information he encounters on platforms like LinkedIn or X. Previously, he would read interesting posts but forget them due to the lack of a centralized system. NotebookLM allows him to store and retrieve insights efficiently, further optimizing his workflow.
Early exposure to venture capital
Palet’s path to venture capital began during his college years in Barcelona, where he ran an e-commerce fashion business. A study abroad program in Hong Kong led to networking opportunities with a VC firm investing in fintech, blockchain, and AI—sectors that aligned with his interests. After graduation, he joined the firm and spent three years in Hong Kong before relocating to Singapore to lead OMVC’s Asia Pacific investments.
Palet’s integration of AI tools reflects a broader trend among professionals seeking to enhance productivity through automation. While his approach prioritizes efficiency, it also raises questions about the long-term implications of AI adoption in traditional industries like venture capital, where human judgment and relationship-building remain critical.
