Actress Jessie Cave, known for her role as Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter film series, has stated that earnings from her OnlyFans account have exceeded her total income from acting. Cave also recounted allegations of body-shaming by a costume designer during her time on the Harry Potter set two decades ago.
Earnings from OnlyFans exceed acting career total
Cave, 39, disclosed in an interview with The Times that her earnings from OnlyFans over the past year and a half have outpaced her entire acting career, amounting to roughly $20,200 in a single day at one point. She described the platform as having "genuinely saved our lives" amid financial struggles and career setbacks. Her OnlyFans content focuses on hair-related videos, charging subscribers $6 per month for non-explicit material.
Cave transitioned to OnlyFans after facing rejection from a callback audition and cited the need to support herself and her four children. She stated that acting opportunities had dwindled, and traditional employment was not feasible due to childcare costs. "I had a breakdown and I thought, ‘That’s it with acting, I give up,’" she said. "But also we have no money."
Allegations of body-shaming on Harry Potter set
In a separate interview with the RESET the Pod podcast, Cave described an incident during filming when she was 20 years old, in which a costume designer allegedly gripped the fat on her hips and asked, "What is this?" She stated the grip was painful and left her in tears. Cave also recalled being told to "suck in" before a scene in the Great Hall, which she said caused her to cry visibly on camera.
Cave reflected on the impact of these experiences, stating that she felt invisible when she returned for the final Harry Potter film two stone heavier, describing the shift in treatment as 100% due to her weight. She expressed wariness about the upcoming Harry Potter HBO reboot series, stating, "I wouldn’t wish that on my kids."
Cave has since turned to writing and OnlyFans to support her family after facing challenges in securing acting roles. She currently shares four children with her fiancé, Alfie Brown.
