Christopher Lambert, the 69-year-old actor known for his role in Highlander, was taken to a hospital after collapsing at Steel City Con in Philadelphia on Saturday.
Lambert was released from the hospital the same day and is resting at his hotel, according to a representative and event organizers.
Lambert’s health incident occurred during a meet-and-greet at the convention. The actor had been signing autographs when he reportedly became overheated and dehydrated, leading to his collapse. A representative for Lambert stated that the actor had not slept enough the previous night and had eaten little during the day, contributing to a drop in blood sugar.
Steel City Con organizers confirmed on their Facebook page that Lambert had to leave the event due to a personal issue. The convention initially canceled his scheduled photo opportunities and Q&A panel for Saturday but later stated he was expected to return for events on Sunday.
Lambert’s representative described his condition as stable, noting he was “perfectly OK” and resting. The actor was released from the hospital the same day and returned to his hotel.
The convention’s organizers clarified that Lambert had become overheated and dehydrated, prompting his removal from the event. They added that he was doing well the following day.
Lambert has a history of health-related incidents. Last year, he suffered a back injury in a fall at a hotel, which forced him to cancel an appearance at Sweden’s SciFiWorld festival in March 2025. His representative at the time stated he was undergoing physical therapy.
Lambert is scheduled to make additional convention appearances later this month, including Fan Expo Chicago and Mad Monster Expo in North Carolina.
