San Francisco 49ers owner and CEO Jed York pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges in Columbiana County Municipal Court on Monday, resolving an arrest that occurred over the weekend in East Palestine, Ohio.
York was sentenced to one day in jail—credited for time already served—and ordered to pay a $1,150 fine, according to court records. The charges stemmed from an incident in which York allegedly attempted to pay $140 for sex at a trailer park in East Palestine.
The original charge of engaging in prostitution was amended to disorderly conduct as part of a plea agreement. York was also convicted of possessing criminal tools, which prosecutors indicated referred to the cellphone he used to arrange the encounter. A $160 sum of cash seized during the arrest was forfeited to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force as part of the agreement. York also completed an online course as part of the resolution.
York was arrested on Sunday at the Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community in East Palestine. He was initially held on a $5,000 bond before being released later that day. The arrest was conducted by the East Palestine Police Department in coordination with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.

York, 46, has served as the 49ers’ CEO since 2008 and became the team’s principal owner in 2024. Under his leadership, the 49ers have reached the Super Bowl three times—in 2012, 2019, and 2023—though the team lost each game.
