Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry have shared their first public video of family life in the United Kingdom since their return from the U.S. The 52-second Instagram clip, posted on Meghan’s official account, captures the couple and their children, Prince Archie (7) and Princess Lilibet (5), engaging in outdoor activities in the English countryside.
The video opens with Meghan and Harry walking hand-in-hand through wooded areas, followed by scenes of the children playing. Lilibet is seen riding a pink tasselled bicycle with a doll in the back seat, while Archie runs alongside her. The family’s Labrador, Pula, is also featured bounding through the woods. Later, the group is shown on a fishing trip in a rowboat, with Harry preparing a fishing rod and the children present. Archie is heard saying, “I got this,” in an American accent, as fish are visible in the water.
The footage includes moments of the children warming their feet by a fire, splashing in muddy puddles, and Meghan gesturing toward the camera. The video concludes with the Union Flag and a heart emoji, accompanied by the song “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” by Wham!
The Sussexes, who returned to the U.K. in August, have maintained homes in both Montecito, California, and Britain. Their move has prompted discussion among royal commentators about whether their arrangement allows them to balance proximity to the monarchy with the freedoms of life outside the U.K.
A royal commentator, Kinsey Schofield, previously suggested the couple may seek “the best of both worlds”—access to Britain and royal credibility while retaining commercial opportunities in the U.S. Schofield compared their situation to the “half-in, half-out” role that Queen Elizabeth II reportedly rejected for Harry during her reign.
The video marks the first time the family has been pictured together in Britain since their return, offering a glimpse into their adjusted lifestyle following their relocation.
