Patrick Clancy is set to give his first television interview since the mistrial in his ex-wife Lindsay Clancy’s case. The interview will air on CBS’s 60 Minutes on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET/PT and stream on Paramount+.
Clancy’s upcoming interview follows the mistrial in the case of Lindsay Clancy, who was charged with killing their three children in 2023. The trial ended in a mistrial on September 6 after an 11-1 jury deadlock, with one juror refusing to accept her defense of not guilty by reason of insanity. Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will seek a retrial.
Clancy spoke exclusively to 60 Minutes correspondent Ross Douthat, discussing his grief, memories of his children, and what he described as baseless conspiracy theories circulating online. The interview is scheduled to air on September 20.
Clancy filed for divorce from Lindsay Clancy in February 2024, more than a year after the deaths of their children—5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan—occurred at their Massachusetts home in January 2023. Clancy testified during the trial about his ex-wife’s mindset prior to the killings.
Lindsay Clancy’s defense team has argued she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time of the deaths, a claim prosecutors have not publicly disputed. The mistrial ruling leaves the possibility of a retrial open, though no decision has been made by prosecutors on next steps.
Clancy’s lawyer, Howard Cooper, issued a statement following the mistrial, warning of potential legal action against creators of conspiracy theories involving Clancy. The defense’s argument hinges on Clancy’s mental state at the time of the killings, while prosecutors have not yet indicated whether they will pursue another trial.
The 60 Minutes episode will also include other segments, including an interview with an Air Force colonel shot down over Iran in April and a hidden camera investigation by correspondent Lesley Stahl.
