Actress Amanda Seyfried and actor Thomas Sadoski announced their separation after nine years of marriage in a joint statement released this week. The couple, who share two children, confirmed they had been separated for some time before deciding the decision was the right one for their family.
The statement read: 'We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We’ve got each other forever—and it’s GOOD.'
Seyfried later shared a lighthearted moment on Instagram, posting a photo of Sadoski posing with a bearded dragon, captioned '#reptiledad'. She also shared a quote reflecting on forgiveness and resilience, writing: 'Defend your heart, do whatever it takes to keep it open despite what it has been through. Forgive, not just others, but yourself, as well.' Underneath, she added: 'Yes yes yes.'
The couple first met in 2015 while starring together in the Off-Broadway play 'The Way We Get By' before reuniting on the set of the film 'The Last Word'. They began dating in 2016, eloped in March 2017, and later welcomed two children: daughter Nina, born in 2017, and son Thomas Jr., born in 2020. They resided together on a farm in upstate New York, sharing glimpses of their family life on social media.
Seyfried has maintained a busy work schedule in recent years, starring in multiple critically acclaimed projects, including 'The Housemaid,' 'The Testament of Anne Lee,' and 'Long Bright River.' Earlier this year, she reflected on her marriage in an interview with Vogue, noting that Sadoski 'sacrifices a lot for me' amid her career demands. She added: 'He also knows that, in this moment, the opportunities I’m being afforded are insane… I do say no a lot.'
