Patrick Clancy and his wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, gave their first joint interview to 60 Minutes, addressing the circumstances of their meeting and Clancy’s past. The interview, scheduled to air Sunday, marks Clancy’s first public comments since January 2023, when his three children were found dead in the family’s Massachusetts home.
Clancy and Danis speak publicly for the first time since 2023
Patrick Clancy, 38, and Dr. Rachel Danis, 37, appeared in a 60 Minutes interview clip released Friday, discussing their relationship and Clancy’s history. The couple married in April 2026 in an intimate ceremony at Central Park’s Ladies Pavilion.
Danis defended their relationship, stating, “I don’t understand how the story has been so twisted.” She described their first meeting as “a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday.” Clancy, who relocated from Massachusetts to New York in May 2023, has not previously spoken publicly about the deaths of his children—Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months—who were found in January 2023.
Clancy’s ex-wife’s case remains unresolved
Lindsay Clancy, Patrick’s ex-wife, was charged with the murders of their children but her defense argued she was suffering from postpartum psychosis. A mistrial was declared in June 2024 after the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict. Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will retry the case, with a hearing scheduled for September 29.
Patrick Clancy filed for divorce from Lindsay in February 2024, a year after the deaths. He has since been involved in charitable work, long-distance running, and rebuilding his life, according to reports.
The couple’s shared interests and public image
Friends and relatives described the pair as united by compassion, optimism, and a commitment to helping others. Photos shared in February 2024 showed them hiking, running, and working out together. Danis, a fertility specialist, and Clancy, a Microsoft employee, have emphasized their shared passions for exercise and philanthropy.
In the interview, Danis reiterated her support for Clancy, calling him “the most selfless father and supportive partner.” The couple’s wedding in April 2026 was attended by family and friends at Sarabeth’s restaurant in Central Park.
