All Elite Wrestling (AEW) announced on Sunday that Benjamin Satterley, the professional wrestler known as Pac, had died at the age of 40. The announcement came less than 24 hours after Satterley competed in AEW’s All Out pay-per-view event in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, where he wrestled Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship.
AEW did not provide a cause of death in its statement. The organization expressed condolences to Satterley’s family, friends, and fans. Tony Khan, AEW’s owner, later posted on social media that Satterley was remembered for his excellence, athleticism, and dedication to wrestling.
Satterley’s wrestling career spanned two decades, beginning in 2004 on the independent circuit in England. He gained prominence in the U.S. through Pro Wrestling Guerilla (PWG) and later signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2012 under the name Adrian Neville. During his WWE tenure, he won multiple championships, including the NXT Championship and the NXT Tag Team Championship.
In 2019, Satterley joined AEW and became a key figure in the promotion. He held titles such as the inaugural AEW International Champion and the AEW World Trios Championship as part of the faction The Death Riders. Known for his high-flying style, Satterley earned nicknames like The Super Superman and The Man That Gravity Forgot.
Tributes poured in from fellow wrestlers and industry figures following the announcement. Will Ospreay called Satterley the greatest export from our country and the greatest human being, while Kevin Owens described him as the best lad. Wrestler Alexa Bliss shared a heartfelt message, writing, I cannot believe this. RIP PAC.
Satterley’s career highlights included competing in organizations worldwide, such as Dragon Gate USA, Wrestle Zone Wrestling, and One Pro Wrestling. In 2017, Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked him as the 11th best wrestler in the world.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and AEW has not provided additional details. Local authorities have not publicly commented on the matter.
