Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand As Ever has debuted a $148 advent calendar in partnership with Los Angeles chocolatier Compartés, featuring 24 handcrafted chocolates inspired by her former Montecito home and garden. The calendar, priced at an average of $6 per chocolate, goes on sale October 1 and includes flavors such as strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, and orange marmalade, along with edible gold countdown numbers hand-painted in Markle’s penmanship.
The advent calendar marks the second collaboration between As Ever and Compartés, following the release of chocolate bars that sold out in under an hour. The box design incorporates illustrations of Markle’s former $14 million Montecito mansion, including its signature palm trees and her flock of chickens. The packaging also references her Flower Sprinkles, a signature element of her brand.
While the Sussex family relocated to the U.K. in August, they have not sold their Santa Barbara property, leaving open the possibility of spending Christmas there. A press release describes the calendar as a ‘keepsake’ designed to be enjoyed through December and treasured afterward.
Collaboration Details
The project was led by Jonathan Grahm, creative director at Compartés, who worked with Markle to develop the flavors. The chocolates draw from As Ever’s collection of jams, including strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, and orange marmalade. The collaboration follows the success of their previous chocolate bars, which were marketed as evoking nostalgia for Markle’s California lifestyle.
The advent calendar is part of a broader effort by Markle to promote As Ever, her lifestyle brand launched in February 2023. Since relocating to the U.K., she has continued to feature the brand on her Instagram account, reinforcing its connection to her personal and professional identity.
