Canadian actor Jim Carrey has married his longtime girlfriend Min Ah in a private ceremony in Los Angeles, his representative confirmed on Thursday. The couple exchanged vows in a small, undisclosed event, with no additional details about the ceremony released.
Carrey’s representative provided confirmation to multiple outlets, including People, E! News, and Entertainment Weekly, following initial reporting by TMZ. The marriage marks Carrey’s third union, following previous marriages to Lauren Holly (1996–1997) and Melissa Womer (1987–1995).
Immediate Confirmation and Public Appearances
The couple’s relationship was first made public in February 2022, when they were photographed together at a charity comedy show in Los Angeles hosted by Judd Apatow. Carrey and Ah were also seen together at the 51st César Awards in Paris in February of this year, where Carrey received an Honorary César for his decades-long career.
During his acceptance speech, delivered entirely in French, Carrey publicly acknowledged Ah as his "sublime companion," stating: "Thank you to my sublime companion Min Ah. I love you, Min Ah." He also expressed gratitude to his family, including his daughter Jane Erin Carrey and grandson Jackson.
Background on the Couple
Min Ah, also known as Minzi, is based in Los Angeles and works as an actress and artist. The pair have maintained a relatively private relationship, with limited public disclosures about their personal lives prior to their recent public appearances. Carrey has previously spoken about his past relationships, telling Howard Stern in 2020 that he does not regret any of them, stating: "I don’t regret. I don’t have those things. But I do appreciate the people that have come through my life for the good that they gave me."
Carrey, now 64, rose to fame in the 1990s through comedy films such as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber. He has continued acting despite earlier indications of a potential retirement. His recent screen credits include the live-action adaptation of Sonic the Hedgehog.
