The White House has offered Katie Zacharia, a lawyer and conservative commentator affiliated with Trump Media & Technology Group, the position of White House press secretary, a senior administration official confirmed on Wednesday. The offer comes as Zacharia currently serves as a senior communications advisor for Trump Media, the parent company of Truth Social, the president’s preferred social media platform.
If she accepts the role, Zacharia would succeed Karoline Leavitt, who left the administration in late August. The New York Times first reported the White House’s decision to offer Zacharia the position. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, did not immediately confirm whether Zacharia had accepted the offer.
Zacharia’s professional background includes serving as general counsel at Fix California, a conservative advocacy group founded by Richard Grenell, a former Trump administration official. Her LinkedIn profile lists her current roles as senior communications advisor at Trump Media and general counsel at Fix California. The White House has not provided further details regarding her potential appointment or the timeline for a final decision.
