Amazon on Thursday introduced two new AI-powered devices designed to listen to conversations, transcribe discussions, and generate reminders or summaries. The Bee Frontier is a wearable silicone wristband that can also clip onto clothing, while the Bee Eclipse is a credit card-sized device that magnetically attaches to the back of a smartphone. Both devices are manufactured by Bee, a San Francisco-based startup acquired by Amazon in July 2025.
The Bee Frontier retails for $75 and offers up to seven days of battery life, with upgraded noise-filtering microphones to capture speech in noisy environments. The Bee Eclipse is priced at $100 and functions similarly to other Bee devices. The Bee Frontier is available immediately, while the Bee Eclipse will be released at a later date, according to Amazon’s announcement.
Amazon describes the devices as personal AI tools that transcribe conversations, compose notes, and issue reminders. For example, if a user discusses travel plans, the device can summarize flight times, hotel reservations, and other details. The AI can also draft follow-up emails or create calendar invites by integrating with services like Gmail, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Alexa+, and Amazon.com. Users receive 14 days of memory and basic summaries for free, while advanced features require a $11.99-per-month Bee Pro subscription.
Amazon emphasized privacy protections, stating that no one, including Amazon, can access user data. The company noted that audio recordings are deleted after transcription and that data remains accessible only if the user chooses to share it. The new devices join a growing market of AI wearables, competing with offerings from companies like Meta and Plaud, which have also introduced AI-powered recording devices.
The launch reflects a broader trend among tech companies to integrate AI into consumer hardware ahead of the holiday shopping season. Amazon simultaneously refreshed its Alexa Tablets lineup, while Microsoft and Apple unveiled AI-infused devices, including a Windows laptop powered by Nvidia chips and HomeView smart home hub with Siri AI.
