Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr., announced on Oct. 23 that she is cancer-free following a breast cancer diagnosis in April 2024. The announcement was made in a video shared on Instagram, featuring her daughter Kai Trump, and included commentary from Dr. Nicole Saphier, a radiologist and medical journalist.
In the video, Vanessa Trump stated, 'And it came back clear, so I’m finally cancer-free.' Kai Trump, who posted the preview clip, added that the conversation aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention and early detection during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Vanessa Trump first disclosed her diagnosis in May 2024, sharing on Instagram that she had undergone a procedure and was working with her medical team on a treatment plan. She requested privacy as she focused on her recovery, writing, 'I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me.'
In a June 13 Instagram update, she reported recovering from surgery and preparing for the second stage of treatment, stating, 'I’m grateful to be healing and moving forward.' Kai Trump also referenced her mother’s progress in a July 16 appearance on Fox & Friends, noting her improvement despite side effects from radiation.
The video clip, posted by Kai Trump, included Dr. Saphier discussing the variability of breast cancer experiences and the importance of awareness. Kai described the conversation as an opportunity to share her mother’s journey, prevention strategies, and early detection methods. Vanessa Trump is currently in a relationship with golfer Tiger Woods and shares five children with Donald Trump Jr.: Kai (19), Donald III (17), Tristan (15), Spencer (14), and Chloe (12).
Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women in the U.S., excluding skin cancers, accounting for about 1 in 3 new cancer diagnoses in women annually.
The family’s public updates reflect a broader effort to highlight survivorship and the importance of medical follow-up, with Vanessa Trump’s recovery marking a significant milestone in her health journey.
