Actress Selma Blair issued a public apology on Friday following her arrest and charging in an alleged altercation aboard a Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York on October 11.
Blair pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault and was released on bond after the incident. In an Instagram video, she stated, 'Not one day ever have I intended to hurt or frighten anyone a day in my life. And so to the people that I disappointed, that I hurt, that I frightened, alarmed. I am so sorry.' She added that she would focus on her health and family while expressing gratitude for support.
The alleged incident occurred mid-flight when Blair was reportedly attempting to open an aircraft door, according to law enforcement. She was arrested upon landing and charged with assault. Blair’s legal team advised her against speaking publicly due to the ongoing legal proceedings, though she chose to issue the apology.
Delta Air Lines has not publicly commented on the matter. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and local law enforcement have not released additional details regarding the investigation or charges. Blair’s representatives did not respond to requests for further comment.
This remains a developing story, with updates expected as legal proceedings progress.
