Three individuals were arrested after attempting to break into the Miami home of Larsa Pippen, a star of The Real Housewives of Miami, on Sunday, according to the Pinecrest Police Department. The suspects, all from out of state, were apprehended within minutes of the incident after fleeing the scene in a vehicle that later crashed. Police responded to an alarm activation and found surveillance footage showing a burglary in progress. The suspects attempted to escape on foot but were quickly taken into custody.
Pinecrest Police Chief Jason Cohen personally apprehended one of the suspects, Elijah Eugene Russell, 18, after a brief pursuit that included Russell jumping into a nearby canal. The other two suspects, Treison Lachae Booker, 23, and Cortez Daymon Johnson, 23, were also taken into custody. Pippen was not home at the time of the attempted break-in.
The incident occurred at Pippen’s multimillion-dollar mansion in the Pinecrest area of Miami. Police described the suspects as having shattered several windows before the alarm system alerted authorities. The suspects fled in a vehicle that crashed into another car and a fence before the occupants attempted to escape on foot. Chief Cohen described the pursuit as his first foot chase in 15 years.
Pippen has been in the news recently due to reports that Bravo is pausing production of The Real Housewives of Miami over low ratings. She expressed her displeasure on social media, criticizing the network’s handling of the show.
