Eugene Mirman, the voice actor behind Gene Belcher on Fox’s Bob’s Burgers, suffered serious injuries in a fiery car crash in New Hampshire on Tuesday. A state trooper assigned to Governor Kelly Ayotte’s security detail, along with bystanders, pulled Mirman from his burning electric vehicle after it struck the Bedford Toll Plaza on the F.E. Everett Turnpike. The actor was transported to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Mirman’s agent, Jay Glassner, confirmed the incident in a statement, expressing gratitude to first responders and requesting privacy for the actor’s recovery. The crash remains under investigation by New Hampshire State Police, with no charges filed as of Wednesday.
Mirman, 51, is a Russian-born American comedian and writer known for his work on Bob’s Burgers, Flight of the Conchords, and Delocated. He co-founded the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival and has released multiple stand-up albums and specials.
