President Donald Trump called on his supporters to boycott Bruce Springsteen’s concerts, labeling the rock star a 'total loser' and 'very boring singer' in a Truth Social post. The remarks came after Springsteen launched his 'Land of Hope & Dreams American Tour' in Minneapolis, where he criticized Trump’s administration during the opening night. Springsteen, a longtime advocate for progressive causes, has been vocal in his opposition to Trump, describing the current administration as 'corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless, and treasonous.'
Springsteen, 76, told the Minnesota Star Tribune that he expects political backlash but remains committed to his message. 'My job is very simple: I do what I want to do, I say what I want to say, and then people get to say what they want to say about it,' he said. The tour, which began on Monday, includes politically charged performances, including a tribute to two U.S. citizens killed by federal immigration agents in January.
Trump’s post also claimed that Springsteen suffers from 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' and falsely asserted that he won the 2024 election in a landslide. He urged MAGA supporters to avoid Springsteen’s 'overpriced concerts, which suck,' arguing that the country is now 'the hottest' under his leadership. Springsteen’s tour follows his endorsement of Kamala Harris during the 2024 election and his collaboration with former President Barack Obama on a book.
