Jason Nichols, 30, has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly breaking into a Fairfield, California, home on April 7 and demanding to know where the family’s daughter was. Police reports indicate Nichols identified himself as a fictional wizard, 'Harry Dresden,' during the incident.
The homeowner confronted Nichols, who was captured on a Ring camera. Nichols reportedly became agitated after being asked to leave, shouting threats and attempting to force entry. The homeowner’s pregnant wife and 5-year-old child hid in the garage during the incident.
Nichols was arrested on charges of burglary, vandalism, and making criminal threats. A witness later came forward regarding a separate incident involving Nichols and a child, leading to additional charges of annoying or molesting a child under 18. Police did not provide further details about the second incident.
During the home invasion, Nichols removed a hanging decoration from the entryway and threatened to kill the homeowner if the door was not opened. He gained entry by breaking a gate and entering through a sliding glass door.
