Two shootings occurred in West Hollywood within the past week, leaving residents on edge. The most recent incident took place on Tuesday in the 7900 block of Norton Avenue, where a man was shot in the legs while walking with his wife and baby. The victim was hospitalized in stable condition. Investigators are unsure whether the shooting was targeted or random.
The shooting came five days after a woman was shot twice while standing on her balcony in the 1000 block of Vista Street. She was also hospitalized in stable condition. Authorities reported that at least five rounds were fired in that incident and identified a vehicle of interest.
Witnesses described the chaotic scene, with one resident hearing gunfire and seeing a car speed off. Another neighbor recalled assisting the wounded man on the sidewalk. Longtime residents expressed shock, noting that the area is generally considered safe.
As of Wednesday, no arrests had been made in either incident, and it remains unclear whether the two shootings are connected.
