Lindsay Lohan’s stepmother, Kate Major Lohan, was arrested in Harris County, Texas, on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting her estranged husband, Michael Lohan. According to court documents, she was booked on suspicion of assaulting a family or household member with a previous conviction. The altercation reportedly involved Major Lohan throwing a steak knife at Michael Lohan and punching him, leaving him with a bloody nose.
Major Lohan, 43, appeared dishevelled in her mugshot, a stark contrast to her previous public appearances. Her lawyer stated she could be left homeless due to a protective order barring contact with Michael, who is the father of her two children. The judge set her bond at $35,000 and imposed strict release conditions, including no contact with Michael, as well as bans on alcohol, drugs, and weapons.
The arrest escalates a long-standing legal and personal crisis between the couple. Major Lohan has been arrested eight times over the past 15 years, while Michael Lohan was arrested in Florida last year for violating probation. In February 2025, Michael Lohan was charged with felony assault for allegedly committing 'continuous violence against the family.'
During the altercation, Major Lohan was allegedly intoxicated, according to TMZ. Her lawyer requested that she be declared 'indigent' due to her financial struggles, warning she may need to rely on a shelter or temporary accommodation as the case unfolds.
