A brawl broke out in the stands at Yankee Stadium during the Yankees' 11-4 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday. The incident occurred in the top of the sixth inning, with video footage showing multiple fans exchanging blows in the second deck down the left field line. One fan in a Gerrit Cole jersey was seen throwing punches, while another in an Aaron Judge jersey appeared to throw a jab. The fight was quickly broken up, but not before drawing attention from nearby spectators and Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger, who noticed the altercation while fielding near the section.
Meanwhile, Angels star Mike Trout made history by hitting his fifth home run of the series, a 446-foot drive in the seventh inning. This feat tied him with Jimmie Foxx, Darrell Evans, and George Bell as the fourth player to hit five home runs in a series against the Yankees. Trout also became the only player in MLB history to homer in four consecutive games at Yankee Stadium as a visitor.
The Yankees' loss extended their winless-series streak to three, as they have now lost eight of their last 11 games. The team will next face the Kansas City Royals in a three-game home series before hitting the road for games against the Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, and Texas Rangers.
