Natalie Portman, 44, is expecting her third child with partner Tanguy Destable, a French electronic music producer. The Oscar-winning actress shared the news in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, expressing gratitude and excitement about the pregnancy. Portman and Destable, 45, are 'very excited', she said, calling the pregnancy a 'privilege and a miracle.'
Portman shares two older children, son Aleph, 14, and daughter Amalia, 9, with ex-husband Benjamin Millepied, from whom she divorced in 2024. She reflected on her upbringing as the child of a fertility doctor, noting how she is aware of the challenges many face in conceiving. 'I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant,' she said. 'I have so many people I love who’ve had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well.'
Portman also mentioned feeling physically well during the pregnancy, with 'more energy than I thought I might.' She is currently working on projects including The Gallerist and Good Sex on Netflix. The actress lives in Paris, where she enjoys the city’s spring weather and noted that France considers full term to be 41 weeks, giving her an extra week of pregnancy compared to the standard 40 weeks in other countries.
Portman and Millepied divorced in 2024 after 11 years of marriage. The pair met on the set of Black Swan (2010), where Millepied served as choreographer. Portman has kept her relationship with Destable relatively private since they were first spotted together in March 2023.
