The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for Casely Wireless Portable Power Banks (Model E33A) after reports of overheating, fires, and at least one death. The lithium-ion batteries in the devices, sold through Amazon, pose fire and burn hazards, according to the CPSC and manufacturer Casely. This recall is part of a broader CPSC action on April 16, which pulled dozens of consumer products from the market due to serious injury or death risks, including choking, electric shock, and battery ingestion hazards.
Toys and Children’s Products Pose Serious Injury Risks
Several recalled items involve children’s toys that violate federal safety standards. Nvyue-branded Magic Pocket Staffs, imported by Xingwenfeng, were recalled after 163 reported incidents of injuries, including corneal lacerations and temporary vision loss. The staffs’ protective pin mechanism can fail, causing projectile and laceration hazards. These items were sold on Amazon from September 2020 to March 2026.
Atoyus children’s activity cubes, sold by Melofaver US on Amazon between January 2026 and February 2026, were recalled due to detachable small parts that create a choking hazard. The products also violate the mandatory small-parts ban for toys intended for young children, with the CPSC warning of potential serious injury or death. Additional toy recalls include Montessori toy sets (sold by SpringFlower on Amazon from October 2023 to November 2025) due to choking hazards and violations of mandatory teething toy standards.
Other Recalled Products
The CPSC also recalled LED finger beam lights (sold at discount stores from August 2025 to March 2026), Sanlebi Pet Vet playsets (sold by Letokids on Amazon from June 2025 to January 2026), and Lil Buddies pet laser toys (distributed by JC Sales). The recalls highlight the widespread distribution of hazardous products through major retailers and online platforms like Amazon.
