A registered sex offender has been arrested in connection with a series of sexual assaults targeting six women in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley on April 19. Damian Denzell Robinson, 29, surrendered to authorities at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lancaster Station on Wednesday and is now in custody, according to police. The alleged attacks occurred over several hours, with victims described as elderly in some cases, and took place in public locations including businesses, grocery stores, and a retail restroom.
Robinson, who has a prior conviction for indecent exposure and lewd conduct, is accused of assaulting women in Granada Hills, Northridge, Winnetka, and other areas. Police say he recorded some of the assaults on his cell phone. The spree began shortly after 9:10 a.m. inside a business near Devonshire Street and Balboa Boulevard, where an elderly woman was allegedly overpowered and assaulted. Subsequent attacks occurred within hours, with Robinson fleeing after each incident.
The arrests come amid reports of rising crime in the San Fernando Valley, including organized home burglaries in affluent neighborhoods. While those crimes primarily involved property, Robinson’s alleged actions represent a more violent and personal threat, authorities said. Police have not yet disclosed a motive for the attacks.
