At least 10 people were injured in a shooting at a party near Arcadia Lake in Oklahoma on Sunday night, according to police. Edmond police spokesperson Emily Ward confirmed that authorities received multiple reports of shots fired around 9 p.m. at a gathering of young people near the lake. No arrests have been made, and police said there was no ongoing threat to the public.
Authorities set up a reunification center for families at a local Walmart as they worked to identify victims and witnesses. The shooting occurred near the Caddo Pavilion at the Arcadia Lake campground, where a 'Sunday Funday' event was scheduled. Witnesses reported hearing more than 30 shots fired, and videos showed a heavy emergency response with ambulances and police in tactical gear. A white sedan with apparent blood streaks was also photographed at the scene.
Arcadia Lake, located about 13 miles north of Oklahoma City, is a popular recreational spot for fishing, boating, and camping. The area is part of Edmond, a suburb with a population of around 100,000. Police from multiple agencies, including the Oklahoma City Police Department and Edmond police and fire departments, responded to the scene. Investigators continue to interview witnesses and gather evidence.
