The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking public assistance to identify the owner of a sailboat moored near the vessel of Lynette Hooker, a 55-year-old Michigan woman who has been missing since April 4 in the Bahamas. The Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS) released images of the sailboat, which was near Hooker's yacht, Soulmate, in Aunt Pat's Bay, and urged anyone with information to submit tips.
Brian Hooker, Lynette's husband, previously told authorities she fell from their dinghy during bad weather while heading toward their yacht. He was detained by Bahamian police on April 8 but released without charges. Hooker has denied any wrongdoing and stated his focus is on finding his wife. He left the Bahamas shortly after his release to be with his terminally ill mother, though his attorney suggested he may return to assist in the search.
The Coast Guard's appeal for information marks a new development in the investigation, as authorities are now looking beyond the initial account of the dinghy incident. Investigators are seeking potential witnesses who may have been near Soulmate before or around the time of Hooker's disappearance. The case remains active, with no charges filed against Brian Hooker.
