A couple allegedly stole a $4,000 bottle of Louis XIII cognac from Three Thirty Three, a high-end steakhouse in Tempe, Arizona, on May 4. Surveillance footage shows the woman placing the bottle into her purse while the man distracted the manager. The pair fled in a black SUV after booking a table under a fake name and ordering only appetizers.
Restaurant veteran John DeVries, who has worked in the industry for over four decades, expressed shock and frustration. "You didn't need to rob us," he told KSAZ-TV. "Stealing from me, stealing from this family here, that's not happening. We're on you. We're gonna get you. We're gonna prosecute you." The restaurant has since asked the public for help identifying the suspects.
According to staff, the theft was premeditated. The couple allegedly arrived late, made minor complaints, and used the man to block the manager's view while the woman took the bottle. The Tempe Police Department confirmed the investigation is ongoing but declined to provide additional details.
