The U.S. Coast Guard has seized the yacht 'Soulmate' linked to the disappearance of Lynette Hooker, 55, who vanished in the Bahamas on April 4. The boat was intercepted as it left the Bahamas, reportedly sailed by two men unrelated to the case, and is now being held in Florida for further investigation.
Hooker's husband, Brian, 58, claims his wife fell overboard from a dinghy near Elbow Cay, with the outboard engine's kill switch attached to her, cutting power and preventing a rescue. He was detained by Bahamian authorities for five days but released without charges. The Coast Guard has been searching the yacht for clues since Sunday, May 5.
Lynette's daughter, Karli Aylesworth, revealed the boat's movement in a Mother's Day Facebook post, noting the two men sailing it were unknown to her. The Coast Guard declined to comment on the ongoing investigation, citing its active status. Authorities have also sought public assistance in identifying the owner of a nearby sailboat moored near 'Soulmate' at the time of Lynette's disappearance.
