Kimberly Mathers, the ex-wife of rapper Eminem, pleaded no contest on Monday to two misdemeanor charges stemming from a February 16 incident in Macomb County, Michigan. The charges include operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to stop or identify after causing property damage. Mathers, 51, was accused of crashing her white Range Rover into a parked Dodge Ram while allegedly impaired, then fleeing the scene. Her son, Parker, and three of his friends were reportedly in the vehicle at the time.
Mathers claimed another driver in a 'little blue car' swerved into her lane, forcing her to collide with the parked truck. Bodycam footage showed her speaking with officers outside her home, where she initially denied consuming alcohol or narcotics. However, officers noted signs of impairment. The collision pushed the truck approximately 50 feet from its original position.
After the initial crash, Mathers drove home and crashed into her garage door. She was arraigned before Judge William H. Hackel III. Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido emphasized the dangers of impaired driving, stating that such actions endanger lives and communities. Mathers was married to Eminem from 1999 to 2001 and briefly remarried in 2006. She is the mother of their daughter, Hailie Jade, 30.
