The body of Murry Foust, a 22-year-old Northern Kentucky University (NKU) student, was found in Wilder, Kentucky, nearly a month after they were reported missing. Police confirmed there is no evidence of foul play in the death, though the official cause and manner of death remain under investigation by the Campbell County Coroner’s Office.
Foust, a fine arts major set to graduate in May, was last seen alive on April 27 in the Latonia neighborhood of Covington, about nine miles south of Cincinnati. The Covington Police Department issued an alert on April 30, prompting a widespread search effort involving water rescue teams, drones, and community volunteers. An independently organized search party ultimately located Foust’s body on May 24 at the site of an old steel plant in Wilder.
Police and university officials expressed condolences to Foust’s family, with NKU describing the loss as a "profound" one for the campus community. A moment of silence was observed during the university’s graduation ceremony on May 9, where Foust was scheduled to graduate. Friends and community members described Foust as a "light to the community," known for their warmth and presence.
The Covington Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and Evidence Collection Unit are collaborating with the Wilder Police Department and the coroner’s office to determine the cause of death. No additional details will be released until the investigation is complete.
