While it remains unclear whether Brian Hooker used the camera, authorities are processing it for potential evidence. The camera is commonly used by boaters for navigation and safety, particularly at night, as it can detect individuals overboard or obstacles in darkness. Daniel Danforth, a friend of the couple, confirmed to CBS News that Brian Hooker showcased the device in March 2023 while docked in New Orleans. Brian Hooker has denied any wrongdoing and has not been charged. He was held for questioning in the Bahamas but was later released and returned to the U.S. Lynette Hooker was reported missing on April 5 after her husband claimed she fell overboard during a nighttime dinghy ride near the Bahamas. The couple frequently sailed around the U.S. and Caribbean, according to their social media posts.
