Los Angeles police have confirmed a murder-suicide in North Hills that left four people dead, including a 6-day-old girl and a 2-year-old boy. The incident occurred Wednesday night at a home in the 16200 block of Londelius Avenue. Investigators believe a woman in her 30s shot and killed her husband, 31-year-old Khajag Basmajian, and their two children before turning the gun on herself. The victims were identified as Ella Basmajian, the newborn, Alec Basmajian, the toddler, and the unnamed mother. Police have not released a motive or additional details about the case.
Neighbors expressed shock and grief over the tragedy. One neighbor questioned why the mother did not spare the children, while others described the family as quiet and unassuming. A memorial with balloons, flowers, and toys was placed outside the home. Khajag Basmajian worked as a software engineer at BlackLine, which released a statement expressing sadness over the loss.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Special is handling the investigation. Authorities have ruled out any suspects at large and confirmed the incident was a murder-suicide. The case remains under investigation.
