Los Angeles County prosecutors are reviewing two separate sex assault cases against Sean "Diddy" Combs, officials confirmed Wednesday. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) presented the cases, both involving the same alleged victim, to prosecutors in September 2025. The District Attorney’s Office declined to specify when the alleged incidents occurred or why the review has taken nearly nine months.
Combs, 56, is currently serving a four-year federal prison sentence in New Jersey after a New York jury convicted him in July 2024 of transporting prostitutes across state lines. The alleged victim in the L.A. cases is Jonathan Hay, a Florida-based music producer who filed a civil lawsuit against Combs in July 2025. Hay alleges sexual battery in the lawsuit, which has been obtained by multiple media outlets.
Combs’ legal team has denied all allegations. In November 2025, civil attorney Jonathan Davis issued a blanket denial on behalf of Combs, calling the claims "false and defamatory." Representatives for Combs declined to comment on the latest developments. The LAPD and LASD did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Combs’ reputation has faced scrutiny since 2023, following federal raids on his homes and the release of a leaked video showing him assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, at a Los Angeles hotel. The new L.A. cases add to a series of legal challenges he is facing.
